Six poster winners were announced during Poster Session and Reception on Wednesday, September 4, at the Twelfth Annual Meeting of the Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO).
Awarded first place was Jayalekshmi Jayakumar, MD, from the Brooklyn Hospital Centre in Brooklyn, New York, for her research titled “Aspirin’s Intriguing Role in Leukemia’s In-Hospital Hemorrhagic and Thrombotic Events: A Nationwide Analysis.”
Second place was awarded to Jayastu Senapati, MD, from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, for “Venetoclax Added to Hyper-CVAD-Nelarabine and Pegylated Asparagine Improves Outcomes in Patients With T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia/Lymphoma.”
Kotb Abdrabou Ahmed, MD, affiliated with Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Zagazig University Hospital in Egypt, secured third place for the study titled “Impact of Blinatumomab on Survival Outcomes in Adolescents and Young Adults with Philadelphia Chromosome-Negative B-Cell ALL Following the Initial Phase of Pediatric-Inspired Chemotherapy: A Comparative Study.”
Honorable distinctions were given to the following poster authors:
Lydia Eccersley, MD, PhD, from GSK in Upper Providence, Pennsylvania, for “DREAMM-7 update: subgroup analyses from a phase 3 trial of belantamab mafodotin (belamaf) + bortezomib and dexamethasone (BVd) vs daratumumab, bortezomib, and dexamethasone (DVd) in relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM).”
Khaled Albakri, MS, from the Hashemite University in Zarqa, Jordan, for “Comparative Efficacy, Safety, and Cost-Effectiveness of Subcutaneous Versus Intravenous Rituximab in Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.”
Praveena Suppala, MD, from SVS Medical College in Telangana, India, for “Trends and Burden of Acute Lymphoid Leukemia Among Youth Under 20-Year-Old in G20 Countries (1990-2021): Insights From the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021.”
Izel Okcu, MD, from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, USA, for “Anatomical Pattern of CNS Relapse in Aggressive B-Cell Lymphomas.”
Fizza Zulfiqar, MD, from Trinity Health Oakland in Pontiac, USA, and Mikael Rayaan Foundation Global Health Consortium in Kansas, USA, for her research on “Chimeric Antigen Receptor T Cell (CAR-T) Therapy Outcomes in Rheumatological Autoimmune Disorders: A Systematic Review.”
