In this SOHO Insider interview from the 2026 AACR Annual Meeting, John DiPersio, MD, PhD, president of the Society of Hematologic Oncology, shares what he believes the future of blood cancers hold and how AI platforms will contribute to future discoveries.
Dr. DiPersio also discusses where progress in blood cancer treatment lags, specifically in acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndromes. Dr. DiPersio said there is “a long way to go” and researchers should not “rest on their laurels.”
Dr. DiPersio received the 2026 American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Award for Outstanding Achievement in Blood Cancer Research during its annual meeting earlier April 2026.
