Focus on CELMoDs (Multiple Myeloma) EHA 2026 Meetings / Conferences Multiple Myeloma Roundtable Discussions Video Interviews

Where do CELMoDs, including mezigdomide and iberdomide, fit in the myeloma treatment landscape?

The roundtable panelists discuss where CELMoDs, including mezigdomide and iberdomide, fit in the multiple myeloma treatment landscape. The panel evaluates the distinct toxicity profiles of these agents highlighting how they differentiate from earlier therapies.

The panel was moderated by Dr. Paul G. Richardson, clinical director of the Jerome Lipper Multiple Myeloma Center at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, who speaks with Dr. Meletios A. Dimopoulos, professor and chairman of the department of clinical therapeutics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens School of Medicine, Dr. Rahul Banerjee, assistant professor in the clinical research division at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, and Prof. Katja Weisel, deputy head of oncology, hematology and bone marrow transplantation at University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf.

Clinical investigators are actively evaluating these novel agents across several strategic combinations and settings, Prof. Weisel explained.

“We have very interesting maintenance trials,” she noted, “where iberdomide is tested as a monotherapy or even in combination with monoclonal anti-CD38 antibodies.”

To ensure long-term clinical efficacy, managing treatment-related hematologic side effects with active growth factor support is critical to keeping patients on track, Dr. Richardson stressed.

“Maintaining that dose and schedule of the CELMoD is absolutely key to its activity,” he said.
