A Biologics License Application was submitted to the US Food and Drug Administration for the BCMA-directed, second-generation bispecific antibody etentamig for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, as reported by the drug’s manufacturer, AbbVie.
Etentamig is a second-generation BCMA x CD3 bispecific antibody T-cell engager administered intravenously for the treatment of adults with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. The submission is supported by results from the global, phase 3, multicenter, randomized CERVINO study. Investigators in the study evaluated etentamig versus investigator’s choice of standard available therapies in patients with triple-class exposed relapsed or refractory MM who had received at least two prior lines of therapy.
In a presentation at the 23rd Annual Meeting and Exposition of the International Myeloma Society in Glasgow, Scotland, the CERVINO investigators, led by Peter Voorhees, MD, wrote that the data support ententamig monotherapy as a new standard of care with convenient dosing suitable for global outpatient and community use.
