In this letter from SOHO Executive Director Janet M. Cesak, MBA, outlines the latest achievements of the Society of Hematologic Oncology’s global Ambassador Program, including two successful inaugural meetings.
Dear colleagues,
As we approach the end of the first quarter of 2026, I am pleased to share a brief update on the exceptional successes of the SOHO Ambassador program thus far this year.
The Houston-based SOHO team joined the inaugural meetings of both SOHO Asia and SOHO UK, supporting membership efforts onsite and engaging directly with attendees. The enthusiasm present at both meetings reflects the growing global engagement across the society and its members.

SOHO Asia was held in Taipei, Taiwan, at the Evergreen International Convention Center January 23–25, 2026. The meeting was organized by SOHO Ambassadors Drs. Bor-Sheng Ko and Hsin-An Hou and drew close to 400 attendees from around the world. The program featured leading hematologists from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, National Taiwan University Hospital, and Singapore General Hospital. SOHO UK was held at the Royal College of Physicians in London on March 3–4, 2026, bringing together nearly 300 attendees. The program was led and developed by Profs. Charles Craddock and Anthony Goldstone, with input from hematology leaders representing the breadth of the UK hematology community. Read more about SOHO UK.

Our media platform, SOHO Insider, also debuted its first regional meeting newspaper at SOHO UK, which received strong praise from attendees and helped create a shared sense of community. The newspaper highlighted significant meeting themes, introduced new voices, and showcased the strength and breadth of the program. Readers can view a copy of the digital version online.
As we move into the year, additional regional SOHO meetings are planned across Israel, Brazil, Central Europe (its inaugural meeting), and France.
The SOHO Ambassador Program appoints experts from around the world to represent the society in their geographic regions. Ambassadors share local developments in hematologic oncology with SOHO and promote its educational resources within their communities. Visit soho.click/donate to support the SOHO Ambassador program.
