In this discussion, the panel explores the optimization of belantamab mafodotin dosing strategies in the frontline setting for transplant-ineligible multiple myeloma. They examine how researchers evaluated alternative dosing schedules in the DREAMM-9 study to maintain high MRD negativity rates while minimizing ocular toxicity.
The panel was moderated by Dr. Saad Usmani, chief of the myeloma service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and featured panelists Dr. Meletios A. Dimopoulos, professor and chairman of the Department of Clinical Therapeutics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens School of Medicine; Dr. Hans Lee, director of myeloma research at Sarah Cannon Research Institute; and Dr. Ajay Nooka, clinical member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
“… where is the threshold where you can get really good MRD negativity, good responses in this older patient population without causing ocular side effects?” Dr. Usmani said of efforts to optimize the dosing schedule in the DREAMM-9 study.
